Refrigerator and Batteries

It looks like I can go for 2 days on my batteries with the new refrigerator before having to recharge at 50% discharge (i.e., about 100AH out of my 200AH batteries).  I only used my LED lights but I used the furnace in the morning, water heater and pump for a shower.  It was cool to cold during the weekend and the refrigerator was hard to keep from being too cold.  I kept bumping down the dial because the interior thermometer said 35-36F degrees.  Some of my water froze. In more moderate temps it will probably keep at better temps.  My amp hour usage varied from a low of 1.56AH/hr to 2.68AH/hr, the higher usage corresponding with furnace usage.

This week, I got the indoor/outdoor thermometer and a little clock that I mounted on the trim above the refrigerator.  The thermometer wire sensor is threaded to the back of the refrigerator so I can see at a glance what the interior temp is.  The max/min will allow me to see what range it has.  The clock is just because I like to have a clock to glance at.  I used 3M Dual Lock to attach the clock and thermometer to the trim.

It was cold at night with outside temps getting into the mid 30s.  I have a thick down blanket that kept me toasty warm even tho the inside van temps got down to 45F.  I see no reason to run the noisy furnace so I prefer the warm blanket.  The animals have warm coats and seemed not to mind at all.  The dog likes to sleep on that green rug.  The cats usually are on the bed with me.

  1. It's hard to imagine those temps. It's a little after midnight here now & inside the RV, it's 79degrees.
